The Kokomo Downtown Farmers’ Market is dedicated to providing Howard County with a one-of-a-kind, vibrant farmers’ market that promotes the community through education, small business development, and by celebrating the arts while working with local food producers to create avenues to consumers.
We fulfill our mission each week all summer long, at our amazing outdoor market that provides a dynamic glimpse of our community. Expect to find dance groups, bluegrass bands, magicians and more to entertain you while you stroll through the booths of our friendly vendors selling only what they grow, raise, or make themselves. Local nonprofit organizations participate each week ro share information about their work in the community. We offer weekly educational activities about nature, nutrition, and gardening through our Little Sprouts Market Club for kids and our Wellness Tent offers cooking demonstrations, budget-friendly recipes, and smart cooking tips to help you make the most of the market!
Because we understand that you want fresh, tasty, real food not just in the summer but all year through, we created The Market Store & Cafe in 2019 to provide consistent access to the best central Indiana farms and small businesses have to offer. It didn’t take long to outgrow that store, and in 2021, we moved a couple doors down to a larger space. Recently, the KDFM launch another amazing local business as the store became independently-owned and -operated by longtime Market Manager Adrienne Akers-Partlow. Now called The Radish Market & Cafe, the store continues to partner with the KDFM to increase access to and consumption of fresh food, to provide educational opportunities to our community, and to assist food producers and entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses.
Currently, the KDFM is working to build a community kitchen at our food hub at 115 W. Sycamore Street where you can learn about all things cooking and nutrition as well as build your own food business.
